Regina Trading Cards,Australia and New Zealand,producers
of trading cards as the
Scanlens era ended in
1989 for non sport and 1991 for sports cards issues.
Regina's first issue of non sports cards was the Garbage Gang cards,sticker
release of 1989,along with Bazooka Joe comics.Regina released their
first Football trading cards with
the 1992
season.Unlike the Topps issues of the same name,Regina cards production
was very limited.Soon after issue,within 6 months,displays and sales
halted as Newsagents re-stocked with the latest trading card or sticker
issues.
Trading cards stores hardly existed in Australia until 1993.

Regina
Trading Cards and Allens Regina cards in New Zealand,continued
the unique differences between USA and Australian trading card releases.They had white backs,no stickers or were uniquely
numbered or stamped.Some included gum within the packs.Cellophane
wrappers were used also with the Australian and New Zealand releases.

Regina
Cards had variations in the sizes of each card.2-3mm in
some cases.
Poor centering was another problem.
Some issues limited distibution.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon
hardly seen in Brisbane in 1990.We were looking for them!
This is not a criticism of Regina,as
other companies of the Era
suffered similar problems.

Caution
on prices.Cards clearly state the Grade of Card available.Nr Mint is
untouched after sorting,clean all square,with white edges.Untraded.On

VG is traded.Only way you could get those series 20 years ago.
Unopened Australian Trading Card boxes,20 years old,are extremely
rare.Very Limited.
They are not USA issues.
Some Australian Sports Cards issues 1963,fetching upwards of $500 per
card.
